Jasper Newton Daniel (aka Jack Daniels) was born in 1850 in Tennessee. He was the youngest child of his mother's 10 children and member of an even larger family. Jack Daniels decided he was better off on his own and basically ran away. He was befriended by a moonshiner, who eventually taught him the trade of liquor distillation.
